The Diabetes Foundation of Mississippi is looking for:
Full Time Family and Community Outreach Person/Part Time Possible
Responsibilities include:
- visiting newly diagnosed children and their families in the hospital
- visiting schools statewide to teach groups of school personnel and parents about caring for students with diabetes
- participating in Health Fairs statewide
- doing the preparation involved for those programs. (packing backpacks & school boxes, copying materials, etc.)
- data collection/entry/paperwork to track effectiveness for board/grants/sponsors
- Other duties as assigned
Applicant must be able to speak publicly and network, have the ability to work alone and with a team, be willing to work some weekends, be flexible, and be familiar with Microsoft Office. Reliable vehicle for travel will be necessary. Ability to lift ~40 lbs. into and out of vehicle. Medical or Science background preferred.
Personal connection with T1/T2 diabetes, knowledge of Canva and social media platforms desirable
