Then get ready for a genuine honest-to-goodness good time at the Bacchus Ball, the Diabetes Foundation of Mississippi’s annual nod to Mardi Gras, on Saturday, January 31, 2026, at the Country Club of Jackson.

You won’t need beads, a Venetian mask or a float, just an appetite for the rollicking revelry of the evening, which has become one of Jackson’s marquee social events with its regional music and creole cuisine, not to mention a silent auction of jewelry, weekend getaways and works by local artists—and, of course, the desire to help the foundation continue it’s crucial mission ministering to those Mississippians living with type 1 or 2 diabetes.
Here’s the skinny on Fat Tuesday, DFM style. You can be part of the Royal Court with the following sponsorships: $10,000 for Grand Marshal, $5,000 for the King, $2,500 for the Queen, $1,000 for the Jester, and $500 for the Joker. Established in 1984 by the late Warren and Elsie Hood, this lavish annual event has grown each year to help ensure that the Diabetes Foundation of Mississippi will continue providing care for every individual and family in the state affected by diabetes. Unlike many similar organizations that distribute donations nationally, our foundation uses its contributions only within the state.
- Grand Marshal – $10,000 – TWO table of TEN (TWENTY reserved seats), 40 drink tickets*, name on the invitation and event signage.
- King – $ 5,000 – ONE table of TEN reserved seats, 20 drink tickets*name on the invitation and event signage.
- Queen – $ 2,500 – EIGHT reserved seats, 16 drink tickets*, name on the invitation and event signage.
- Jester – $ 1,000 – FOUR reserved seats, 8 drink tickets*, name on the invitation and event signage.
- Joker – $ 500 – TWO reserved seats,2 drink tickets*, name on the invitation and event signage.
- Krewe – $ 150 – ONE ticket for admission, 1 drink ticket* (unseated)
