Each year, the Diabetes Foundation of Mississippi teams up with Patty Peck Honda of Ridgeland to “put the brakes on diabetes” with the Car for a Cure Giveaway!
For three decades, Patty Peck Honda has generously donated a Honda to the Diabetes Foundation of Mississippi. Proceeds from the “Car for a Cure” ticket sales benefit the children’s programs of the Diabetes Foundation of Mississippi, including Camp Kandu, Mississippi’s only camp for children with diabetes and their families. Camp Kandu is free for children with diabetes, which is only made possible by donors like YOU!
The winning ticket is drawn live at the Ultimate Fashion Show every April.
“It’s been very rewarding,” Patty Christie said. “The most fun part is giving the car away, because it’s always someone who really needs a car that wins, and that’s a really good feeling.”
“What makes it even better is knowing that all of the proceeds stay in Mississippi – the money supports the DFM’s school programs and patients throughout the state who have diabetes,” Jeff Christie said. “It just adds a personal touch,” he said. “I like that every dollar stays in our state to help Mississippians with diabetes and to raise awareness. At the DFM, everyone has the best interests of the patients in mind. Everyone truly cares about the people they help.”
The 2025 Car for a Cure drawing will be at the Ultimate Fashion Show. The winner need not be present to win!
